MBA Travel Teams: Program Overview

This guide provides an overview of the MBA Summer and Fall Travel Team programs, outlining training, competition, and key objectives for each age group.

Summer Travel Teams (13u-18u)

Off-Season Training (November – April)

  • Indoor Practices: Teams practice once per week beginning in early November. Youth teams (13U-14U) practice until early April; High School teams (15u-18u) practice until their respective high school seasons start.
  • Facility Access: Players receive complimentary access to the MBA facility for additional practice during designated hours.
  • Training Discounts: Players also receive discounted rates on all additional training programs.

In-Season Tournament Play (June – July)

  • Practices: 1-2 team practices per week, typically held at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Wauwatosa or at MBA.
  • 13u/14u Teams: Participate in 4-5 weekend tournaments from late April through July, plus compete in a local weekday league.
  • High School Teams (15u-18u): Play in 6 tournaments from early June through early August.
  • Travel: All teams will travel, and players should be prepared for some tournaments to require overnight stays. MBA teams primarily compete in the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota). The extent of travel varies by team age and caliber.

Fall Travel Teams (16u-18u)

Our Fall Season focuses on critical goals for player development and future opportunities.

  • Tournaments: Teams play in 4 tournaments during the Fall, typically featuring 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday.
  • College Showcase: We host a college showcase at the end of the Fall season for Sophomores-Seniors, providing an opportunity for players to perform in front of numerous college scouts.
  • Player Development: Our staff is dedicated to helping each player make significant improvements to their game.
  • Competitive Repetition: We maximize live innings for each player, understanding this is a crucial aspect of improvement, especially given Wisconsin’s weather limitations.
  • College Recruiting: We actively assist players and their families in navigating the college recruiting process, aiming to open as many doors as possible for their continued careers.

Fall Travel Teams (13u-15u)

This program introduces players to the “MBA Way” and provides valuable live innings.

  • League Play: Our 13-15u Fall Teams participate in a competitive local league.
  • Program Focus: Introduce players to our program philosophy and maximize their live game experience.

Additional Details (All Fall Teams)
